Inspiring a nation to get back on a bike with ads that become useful tools

“Transforming traditional bank communications into practical tools for cycling enthusiasts, inspiring a nation to rediscover the joy of biking.”

HSBC UK has joined forces with British Cycling to encourage 2 million people to start cycling again by 2020.

 

The challenge? Many who have stopped cycling feel overwhelmed by perceived barriers: unpredictable weather, safety concerns at night, or uncertainty about choosing the right bicycle. To demonstrate that cycling is now more accessible than ever, we developed a series of in-branch communications that not only raise awareness but also offer practical help for getting back in the saddle.

 

We designed leaflets that double as reflective stickers for night riding, FSDUs that assist in finding the correct frame size, and A4 handouts made from durable material that transform into rear mudguards, enabling safe cycling in the rain. Each piece of communication is crafted to inspire people to reconsider cycling.
